The Mixed Roots Film & Literary Festival is an annual free public event celebrating stories of the inter-racial, inter-cultural, interfaith experience through films, readings, workshops and live performance. The Festival is an inclusive event which brings together film and book lovers, innovative and emerging artists, and multiracial/multicultural individuals, families and friends.
In the Obama age, the 2nd annual Mixed Roots Film & Literary Festival couldn't be more timely.
The Mixed Roots Festival includes diverse workshops, film screenings, readings, and a dynamic live performance with comedy, spoken word, and music on Saturday evening called "Mixed Unplugged: Live Performance of the Mixed Experience."
This year, the Festival hosts the largest West Coast Loving Day celebration with the Coca-Cola Lounge on June 12 at 6:30pm. The Festival's guest celebrities include Kim Wayans, Angela Nissel, and others.
This Festival is free, but please register in advance! Registration is fast and easy, and gives you priority seating in the workshops & helps organizers determine numbers for the festivities. Click here to register.
