Eric GarcettiTo whom it may concern,
Los Angeles is a city with a cultural diversity that rivals any other in the world. Organizations like the Levantine Cultural Center are critical to serving those diverse needs while enriching the experience of everyone else who lives here. The Levantine Cultural Center's mission is to promote peace among the cultures in the Middle East whose programs emphasize coexistence. They offer critical support to emerging Middle Eastern artists and lend intellectual and contextual support to such large institutions as LACMA, UCLA and others that benefit from a community organization with deep roots in the Arab, Iranian, Armenian, Turkish, Middle Eastern Jewish, Kurdish and other communities.
The Levantine Center is seeking funding to provide for staffing and a permanent home of its own, so that the center can meet the expanding demands on its services and programs. I urge you to give the Levantine Cultural Center every consideration.
