Rocking the Casbah: Morocco and the Arab Spring

In "Rocking the Casbah: Morocco and the Arab Spring," writer and professor Laila Lalami will discuss the North African uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt, before focusing on the case of Morocco, which has experienced its own unique response to this unexpected era of change.

"Rocking the Casbah" will be the fourth presentation in the new MENA-X (Middle East/North Africa Exchange) lecture series, happening every Thursday at the Levantine Cultural Center. MENA-X presents incisive talks with experts and guest moderators to help us better understand the complexities of life on the ground in the Middle East and North Africa. (Previous topics have included Iran's Green Movement and Islam & Hollywood.)
