Malik MalikMalik was a Film & New Media Associate at Levantine during 2011. He is a Sudanese-American who has spent the first half of his life in Los Angeles, and the second half in Khartoum, Sudan. His involvement with Model United Nations throughout his high school career instilled him with a love for politics and international affairs, particularly pertaining to the Middle East and North Africa. Malik now studies at University of Southern California, majoring in Business Administration and double minoring in Middle East Studies and Film. Due to Malik's disappointment with the inaccurate depictions of the Middle East and its people in mainstream cinema, he hopes to use his knowledge of both the Middle East and cinema to eventually create films that portray the region in an honest and humanizing light. Malik is working to help develop further the New Voices in Middle Eastern Cinema series.
