Rachel Campbell

Rachel Campbell has been Levantine Cultural Center's primary Web Designer and master since 2008. She has more than eight years of management and design experience across a broad spectrum of professions. Starting in the journalism field, Rachel was first Lifestyle Editor and then Managing Editor of the Daily Trojan, the University of Southern California's daily newspaper with a staff of over 100 people. From there, Rachel was an Associate Editor for a legal trade magazine, managing the Technology section from story concept to final output.

Rachel then turned her focus to web and user-interface design applying much of the same design principles as print media with an interactive twist. She taught herself HTML and Flash in the evenings and weekends until she was able to strike out on her own as a freelance web designer. She continued as a freelance designer for more than 5 years on a wide range of projects before starting at TASER International where she is now Senior Product Manager for the company's new software division creating Evidence.com for police agencies.


Specialties:
During her consulting career, Rachel focused on all aspects of web design and implementation from creating the initial workflow and wireframes to graphic design and creation in HTML or Flash. Working primarily on start-ups and projects with smaller teams, Rachel also had to rely on her management skills to keep projects organized and on-track for completion.

Personal Interests:
In her free time, Rachel produces short films and has helped create the initial concepts for a zombie web series and social networking site with her husband. On the weekends, you will likely find her at the Alamo Drafthouse—the best movie theater in the world.
