Souraya Al-Alaoui

Souraya Al-Alaoui served as the Assistant to the Director at the Levantine Cultural Center during 2011. Born in Damascus, Syria and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, she has a natural inclination towards all things relating to the Middle East and the Arab world. Having recently completed her B.A. in Media Studies from UC Berkeley, she hopes to inspire change in the West in regards to images of Arabs, Muslims, and the general Middle East, whilst promoting its culture and art.
