Actor Haaz Sleiman will emcee the Arab Film Festival's opening night gala in Los Angeles

The Arab Film Festival (AFF) presents its 16th annual festival in the San Francisco Bay Area and the 6th annual version in Los Angeles, Oct 19-21, once again at the Writers Guild of America Theatre, 135 S. Doheny Drive, Beverly Hills 90211. On Oct. 19th at 8 pm, the opening night centerpiece film is Man Without a Cell Phone. The 8 pm screening is preceded by a VIP reception at 6:30 pm at the Writers Guild Theater of America. Haaz Sleiman, the Lebanese American star of The Visitor and the British mini-series The Promise, will host the opening of the festival.

Faouzi Bensaidi's "Death for Sale" is a new film from Morocco in its Los Angeles premiere

The 16th Arab Film Festival with support from the Levantine Cultural Center (New Voices in Middle Eastern Cinema series) will present Faouzi Bensaidi's Death for Sale (117 ms) on Sat., Oct. 20 at the Writers Guild Theatre on Doheny Dr. This Los Angeles premiere is a 2011 Belgian-French-Moroccan and UAE coproduction, and features Fehd Benchemsi, Fouad Labiad, Mouhcine Malzi, Imane Elmechrafi and Faouzi Bensaïdi.
