Peter Ziebert

Peter ZiebertPeter ZiebertPeter Ziebert is an attorney, business and legal consultant, as well as the founder and co-owner of Worlds Away Films, a production company based in Los Angeles. Peter is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington DC. He is also a graduate of Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee WI, where he was a member of the Marquette Law Review. For over 15 years, he practiced law in Washington, DC first for the Washington DC offices of two preeminent national law firms based in California, and then as Counsel for two different agencies of the federal government.

Following a six month around-the-world trip in the mid-1990s, he started an art gallery called Worlds Away in Washington DC in 1996 The Gallery showcased antiquities and artifacts from the Indian subcontinent, Asia and the Middle East. Peter forged strong ties with many embassies in Washington in promoting the Gallery’s mission, and its clients included numerous members of Washington’s diplomatic and journalistic corps. From 1996-2003, the Gallery sponsored dozens of cultural programs and art exhibitions, including film screenings, book signings and charity fundraisers. Perhaps the best-known marriage of art, culture and goodwill occurred in November 2001, when Worlds Away sponsored the first-ever Afghan art show in Washington, whose proceeds built a girl’s school in Kabul, Afghanistan.

After 9/11, as a result of his many global travels, as well as the extensive network of contacts he garnered worldwide in film, entertainment, politics, diplomacy, media and journalism, Peter made the career-transforming decision to leave law practice for the world of film and entertainment, due to his belief that arts and entertainment are the strongest forces for cross-cultural understanding in today’s troubled times.

As a result, in 2004, he founded Worlds Away Films, whose mission is to produce films and documentaries that focus on East-West themes and the rich artistic and cultural history of the Middle East and Indian subcontinent. The Company’s projects to date bring forth timely, compelling messages of global stature that entertain and educate, and in so doing, challenge stereotypes, foster new understandings and bridge the growing divide between East and West. Since 2004, Peter has forged strategic partnerships in Los Angeles, Washington DC, the Middle East and Indian subcontinent with top-tier companies and credentialed individuals sharing this vision.
