Out of the Mist: A Panorama of Contemporary Iranian Art, presented
by Homa Taraji, president
of Paradi in collaboration with the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art,
opens at the Don O'Melveny Gallery June 1 through June 30.
The opening reception will be held on June 1 from 6 to 9 pm.
Other receptions will be held on Saturdays throughout June.
The approximately 70 paintings in Out of the Mist represent a
sampling of the rich cultural life of Iran whose artistic heritage reaches
back centuries. The works on view, created by 21 artists including 6
women artists, were painted between 1979 and 2002. These vibrant, splendid
images represent the social, political, and economical changes experienced
by people during these critical years of Iranian history. For details
on Out of the Mist, please view the Paradi
site. The Don O'Melveny Gallery is located at 9009 Melrose Avenue in
West Hollywood. The gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m.
