On the 1-year anniversary of the Tunisian uprising against an authoritarian regime—an uprising that arguably launched a revolution that continues to shake the world—comes the first film festival dedicated to Tunisian cinema. Following the Tunisian revolution, which after just 28 days saw the departure of dictator President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, the Free Tunisia.org team met around this unique idea to bring Tunisian cinema and culture to the great city of Los Angeles. Cosponsored by New Voices in Middle Eastern Cinema.

The Tunisian Film Festival will cost our nonprofit organizations $15,000, in part because we're flying in filmmakers from Tunisia. Want to help underwrite the first Tunisian Film Festival in Los Angeles and receive a tax deduction on your 2011 return? Please donate $50 or more by 12/31/2011 and we'll send you a letter of acknowledgment in the mail. The organizers of the Tunisian Film Festival, FreeTunisia.org and the Levantine Cultural Center, thank you. Shuqran!
